The Loft RC Raceway, reported by Dustin Richards, SPD

You don’t see factory guys run stock very much… But when you do pay attention. Recently The Loft RC Raceway hosted a stock only race that brought out several of the heaviest hitters in the region. There were 3 rounds of qualifying using best 2 of 3 qual points and triple A Mains. This is how it went down.

Thursday, I did a lot of wrenching “stockifying” my car lighting and rebuilding.

Friday, A warm up race was run and I used this time to figure out gearing. Did not do as well as I would have liked but I had a different car every time with all the changes I made.

Saturday, Everyone knew it was race day and “big race” could be felt in the air.

Q1 I got a 2 for the round

Q2 I got a 3 for the round

Q3 I got a 3 for the round

The 2 and 3 points put me third on the grid for the A Mains.

A1 I got 4th

A2 I got 5th after being run over on the last corner.

A3 I knew I needed a strong finish to make it to the podium. I ended up having a great run and got 2nd. This gave me 6 points from the mains. There was another driver who also had 6 points but my combined laps and times put me third on the podium.

HobbyWing Equipment I used was

Xerun 120A v3.1 Speed Control

LCD Professional Program Box

The next big race for me is the WRL (Winter Racing League) 6.0 at the infamous Ohio RC Factory.

See everyone at the races.
