The 2025 Masters of Dirt looked a little different this year —
moving from its longtime home at the iconic Beach R/C in South Carolina to the legendary Hobby Action R/C Raceway in Chandler, Arizona. Despite the change in scenery, the event kept its unmistakable energy and prestige. Brent and his crew brought their signature flair and production quality across the country, creating an unforgettable experience for racers and fans alike.
Special thanks go out to Larry Tom for continuing to bring this event to life year after year, and to Brent, Lucas, Lance, Danny, and Keenan for the outstanding event coverage and race direction that made Masters of Dirt 2025 a success from start to finish.
A Weekend of Tight Racing and Teamwork
With a slightly lighter turnout this year—due to a packed fall racing calendar—the event provided a more personal atmosphere. This gave “Motor Man” Matty G time to work closely with several drivers one-on-one, fine-tuning setups and motor programs throughout the weekend. That collaboration extended into the Modified classes as well, with Matty spending time alongside Spencer Rivkin on advanced motor tuning and track analysis.
Kadin Meeks Steals the Spotlight
The standout of the weekend was none other than Kadin Meeks, who showed incredible pace and consistency across both spec classes. Kadin took TQ honors in 17.5 Expert 2WD and 13.5 Expert 4WD, being the only driver to consistently clear the tricky triple jump throughout qualifying.
His HOBBYWING-powered Team Associated buggy was dialed from start to finish, running the proven combination of the XR10 PRO G3X ESC and the latest V10 G4R Motor paired with the JUS Option Rotor (SKU 30820407). To keep power delivery stable and voltage drop minimal, Kadin also ran the Module C Capacitor — providing instant throttle response and efficiency under load.
This setup delivered smooth power, strong mid-range torque, and consistency lap after lap — key ingredients in securing the overall win in 17.5 Expert 2WD Buggy. In 13.5 4WD, Kadin looked poised for a clean sweep before an unfortunate mechanical issue ended his run early — but not before proving he was the driver to beat all weekend long.
Podium Power
Spencer Rivkin was right there in the mix, showing strong pace in both 2WD and 4WD. His experience and precision earned him second-place finishes in both classes, running a setup centered around the XR10 PRO G3 ESC in Modified and the V10 G3 Motor equipped with 12.3T and 12.5T rotors for different grip levels. This combo gave Spencer incredible throttle feel and punch, helping him stay competitive in every main event.
Looking Ahead
The Masters of Dirt continues to be one of the most exciting and well-produced events in the country, and 2025 was no exception. The HOBBYWING team was proud to support all our drivers and partners who made this year’s event another success.
Congratulations again to Kadin Meeks on his 17.5 Expert Buggy victory, and to everyone involved in making the Masters of Dirt 2025 one to remember. We’ll see you again next year!
